Women's Golf Finishes Tied for Eighth at the Evie Odom Invite

Karg shoots a two-under 68 in the final round
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team finished tied for eighth at the Evie Odom Invitational after shooting a 13-over 293 in Sunday's final round to finish with a 36-over 876 (291-292-293) at the Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Va.
Hannah Karg finished the tournament with a two-under 68 in Sunday's final round and completed the event with a four-over 214 (76-70-68) and was tied for 15th place.
Luisa Gibson finished tied for 23rd with an eight-over 218 (74-72-72), while Varatkarn Kunkaew finished with a nine-over 219 (72-73-74) and was tied for 28th.
Sara Sarrion shot a 15-over 225 (69-77-79) to finish tied for 52nd, and Carolina Hortian finished 81st with a 30-over 240 (78-81-81).
UCF led the event from the opening round and finished with a 10-over 850 (273-294-283), five strokes in front of second-place Kent State which finished 15-over 855 (283-286-286).
Rounding out the top five were Chattanooga (+20, 860), Furman (+22, 862), and Old Dominion (+26, 866).
The College of Charleston finishes sixth with a 31-over (289-288-294), while East Carolina is seventh with a 35-over (291-291-293), with Coastal Carolina (291-292-293) and James Madison (296-288-292) tied for eighth at 36-over 876. Notre Dame finished 10th with a 37-over 877 (298-290-289).
The rest of the field included Indiana (+47, 887) and Sacramento State (+49, 889). Missouri (288-304-298) and Penn State (294-303-293) tied for 13th at 50-over 890, and North Florida finished 57-over 897 (297-303-297).
CCU will be back in action Oct. 23-24 in Savannah, Ga., at The Southern held at the Savannah Golf Club.
