Coastal to Meet ODU on Friday and Saturday

Stout has recorded six triple-doubles on the season

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina volleyball team will travel to Norfolk, Va., as the Chants will meet the Old Dominion Monarchs at the ODU Volleyball Center on Oct. 4 – 5. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

CONFERENCE HONORS
Jalyn Stout is the reigning Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week for her performances versus Marshall. The sophomore averaged a triple-double (27 kills, 30 assists, and 29 digs) and her sixth of the season to lead CCU to a 2-0 start in SBC action.
 
The Gainesville, Fla., native recorded a double-double with 17 assists and 13 digs in the first match of the series, just missing a triple-double by one kill. On Saturday, Stout tallied 18 kills, 13 assists, and 16 digs to tally her 20th career triple-double.
 
ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA
The Chanticleers enter the weekend at 6-7 overall after sweeping Marshall last weekend to win their sixth straight over the Thundering Herd.
 
CCU is led by Stout, who has 151 kills, 220 assists, and 151 digs to average a triple-double. Emily Fowler, Agata Lesiak, Lauren Malone, and Dilara Unal aid in the offensive attack with 121, 104, 65, and 43 kills, respectively. Cagla Bengi is second on the team with 212 assists.
 
Defensively, Unal leads the team with 41 blocks and Valentina Varani has stopped 27 kills at the net. Sydney Lewis's 155 digs have helped put the offense back in attack mode.
 
ABOUT OLD DOMINION
Old Dominion enters play with an 11-2 record, including winning eight straight matches. The Monarchs' Sun Belt opener with Georgia Southern was canceled due to the impact of Hurricane Helene and ODU last played in the Old Dominion Invitational, picking up wins over Rutgers (3-0) and Radford (3-2) Sept. 19-20.
 
Myah Conway, Elisa Maggi, and Hailee Blankenship lead the Monarch attack with 168, 126, and 122 kills, respectively, while LeeAnne Lowery (84), Bryanna Jones (73), and Alice Munari (54) have over 50 kills each. Ashlynn Belcher leads the team with 373 assists while Blankenship and Maggi have 16 service aces to pace the team.
 
Kate Kilpatrick has 175 digs to get the attack started while Lowery (57), Emma Schelah (43), and Conway (38) have each stopped at least 35 kill attempts with Maggi (15) and Blankenship (14) adding double-digit blocks.
