
Track and Field Set for Raleigh Relays on Thursday

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's and women's outdoor track and field teams are set for a trip to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays on the campus of North Carolina State on Mar. 28-30.
Following back-to-back weekends in Mrytle Beach for the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge and the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, the Chants are coming off a return trip to Columbia, S.C. where they competed in the Weems Baskin Invitational on Mar. 22-23. No team stats were recorded for the meet, but CCU was led by freshman Katelyn Porter on the individual leaderboard, who finished first in the women's 800m with a time of 2:16.04. As a team, the Chants recorded 32 placements inside the top-10, including five second place finishes. Amanda Kinloch, Lauralyn Clifford, Claire Spiller and the men's and women's 4x100m relay teams each finished second in their respective events to cap off the second day of the meet.
This weekend's meet includes Sun Belt conference rival App State, and power five programs Duke, Cincinnati, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wake Forest, West Virginia and host NC State, among others.
The Raleigh Relays from Raleigh, N.C. open tomorrow at 9:15 A.M. ET with the women's javelin finals event.
