Lacrosse Picked To Repeat As Conference Champions

Three Chants selected to Preseason All-ASUN Team

JACKSONVILLE ---- Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse was selected to repeat as Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) champions, the league office announced Tuesday. Additionally, three Chanticleers – Charlotte Sadler, Sydney McClure and Evelyn Kitchin – were selected to the Preseason All-ASUN Team.

Sadler was one of just four players from across the conference to be a unanimous selection to the team. A senior from Rochester, N.Y., she recorded 161 saves with a .439 save percentage last season on her way to being selected to the All-ASUN First Team.

McClure, a fifth year from Marietta, Ga., joined Sandler on the first team last year after posting the fourth-most points per game in the conference. Her 76 points paced CCU.

Kitchin returns to Conway after a breakout freshman campaign in which she was named the 2024 ASUN Freshman of the Year. A native of Charleston, S.C., she recorded the fourth-most draw controls per game in the league last year, including a conference-best 13 against Stetson on April 21.

The Chanticleers won their first conference title in program history last season with a 10-9 win over Jacksonville in the ASUN Championship. CCU finished the conference campaign with a 5-1 record along with victories over Lindenwood and the Dolphins in the conference tournament.

Coastal Carolina is set to open its 2025 campaign on Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. with its alumni game. The regular season begins Feb. 8 at noon against William & Mary. Conference play is slated to start March 22 at Brooks Stadium against Liberty.

Admission is free for all CCU home games.
