COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team downed the South Carolina Gamecocks 3-1 on Sunday evening in Columbia, S.C.

• With the win, Coastal improves to 3-8-0 overall and 2-5-0 in Sun Belt play.
• The Gamecocks struck early in the seventh minute when Tyler Trimnal found the net off an assist from Mike Habel to give the Gamecocks a 1-0 lead.
• The Chants responded just two minutes later, as Jaland Larmond set up Loed Klaasen, who slotted the ball into the bottom corner to level the score at 1-1.
• At halftime, South Carolina led 7-4 in shots, while Coastal held a 4-1 advantage in corners.
• Angel Lopez put the Chants in front for the first time in the 63rd minute when his deflected shot found its way into the right side of the net to make the score 2-1.
• Coastal extended its lead in the 73rd minute as Anton Bjarkason recorded his first career goal off an assist from Lopez to give CCU the 3-1 win.
• At the final whistle, Coastal trailed 17-8 in total shots, led 5-3 in saves, and tied 4-4 in corners.

The Chanticleers will remain on the road to face UCF on Oct. 31, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. ET.
