Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against the James Madison Dukes in its Sun Belt Conference opener on Saturday evening in Harrisonburg, Va.
- With the draw, CCU moves to 3-3-1 on the season.
- James Madison took the lead in the 38th minute when Brooke Potter found the bottom left corner of the net to make the score 1-0.
- At the end of the first half, Coastal trailed 7-1 in shots and 5-0 in corner kicks.
- Leading goal scorer Dolcie O'Connor leveled the score in the 48th minute, blasting her third goal of the season into the top left corner to tie the match at 1-1.
- O'Connor paced the team with two shots on the evening.
- Aris Lamanna recorded three saves in the outing.
- Eefje Botjer was Coastal's lone field player to play the full 90 minutes.
The Chanticleers will remain on the road to take on South Alabama on Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. ET.
