Women’s Soccer Head Coach Jo Chubb to Pursue Other Opportunities

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University women's soccer head coach Jo Chubb has announced she will be leaving the program to pursue other professional opportunities. Coastal Carolina will begin a national search for its next head coach.

"Coach Chubb has represented Coastal Carolina with professionalism throughout her tenure," Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation Chance Miller said. "We appreciate the commitment she brought to the program and the care she showed for our student-athletes each day. We are thankful for her time at Coastal Carolina and wish her continued success."

Chubb was named head coach of the Chanticleers in December of 2022, earning her first NCAA Division I head coaching opportunity. During her tenure in Conway, she led the program's development on and off the field while continuing to elevate its competitive and academic standards within the Sun Belt Conference.

"I'm incredibly grateful to former AD Matt Hogue for taking a chance on me and giving me my first head coaching opportunity, and to Chance Miller for continuing that trust and support," Chubb said. "I want to thank the entire Coastal Women's Soccer staff for their commitment to our student-athletes and their belief in the vision we built together. Most importantly, I'm deeply thankful for the players I've had the privilege to coach. They are an exceptional group, and being part of their growth and journey has meant more to me than I can fully express."

This past season, the Chants produced an NCAA-leading seven-match tie streak from Sept. 21 to Oct. 24, breaking the Sun Belt Conference record for most ties in league action. Chubb also guided Eefje Botje to All-Sun Belt Second Team honors and a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-Region selection.

"This program is in a strong position, and I have no doubt it will continue to achieve the success it deserves. The people here truly make this place special, and I'll always be grateful to have been a part of it."

Additional information regarding the national search will be announced at a later date.
