Soccer Programs Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coastal Carolina's men's and women's soccer programs were recognized for their academic success as both teams earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year.
A total of 777 soccer teams nationwide, including 326 men's and 451 women's programs, earned the Team Academic Award. Coastal was one of just 175 schools to have both its men's and women's soccer programs recognized.
The Chanticleer women's soccer team posted a 3.70 team grade point average, while the men's soccer team recorded a 3.42 team GPA to earn the national academic honor.
The United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award recognizes collegiate soccer programs that demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence. To be eligible, teams must record a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale among all student-athletes on the roster.
The recognition marks the 10th consecutive year and 18th time overall the men's soccer program has earned the honor, while the women's program has now garnered the award 24 times overall.
The women are set to commence the 2026 regular season against Charleston Southern at the CCU Soccer Complex on Aug. 13 at 6 p.m., while the men will open their season against NC State on Aug. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
