HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - For the second consecutive game Coastal Carolina fell in a close game in a 55-53 defeat at the hands of Manhattan.

The Chanticleers had their chances in the game, but 24 turnovers and a poor shooting performance doomed the Chants late in the game.

CCU only had two players reach double digits, as
Zac Cuthbertson had a team and tied for game-high honors with 12 points. Like the rest of the Chants, Cuthbertson struggled from the field connecting on only one field goal and hitting 10 free throws.

Tre Brown came off the bench to spark the Chants scoring 10 points. Nine of his 10 points came on three-point field goals.

CCU only shot 33 percent (14-42) from the field and only hit six of its 15 (38%) three point field goals, but the free throw line again, came back to haunt the Chants. CCU managed to only hit 19 of 34 free throws for 56 percent.

Amidou Bamba had a team-high 10 rebounds and
Ebrima Dibba added three assists and a steal to go with his eight points.

Tyler Reynolds led Manhattan's offense with 12 points on four three-point field goals. He hit all four of his attempts in the second half, but missed all of his attempts in the second half.

Nehemiah Mack scored 10 points, including the last two free throws with 13 seconds left that provided the Jaspers with the final margin of victory.

Manhattan shot 39 percent (16-41) from the field, but hit 10 of its 21 three-point field goals for 48 percent. The Jaspers also struggled at the free throw line only hitting 13 of its 28 attempts. (46%).

Manhattan shot 47 percent in the first half including hitting six-of-nine on three-point attempts to take a 30-26 lead into the locker room at halftime. Reynolds hit all four of his three-point field goals to lead all first-half scorers with 12 points.

CCU struggled shooting the ball from the field, shooting only 32 percent from the field. The Chants did manage to hit five three-point field goals with
David Pierce and[] Brown combining for three consecutive three-point field goals in the final 1:40 to cut the Jaspers lead from 10 down to four at the break.

Zac Cuthbertson added five to lead the Chants first-half scoring.

The Chanticleers will be back on the hardcourt tomorrow in their second game of the tournament. They will face an ole Big South foe in UNC Asheville. The two teams will tip off at 4:30 p.m.
