CARROLLTON, Texas – Coastal Carolina men's golf concluded its 2020 fall season this week at the prestigious Maridoe Collegiate Invitational in Carrollton, Texas.
On one of the most challenging golf courses in the nation, the Chanticleers carded team rounds of 321, 306, and 312 to finish the 54-hole event in 12th-place overall at 939, +75.
Oklahoma State (880, +16) took home the team title, finishing three shots ahead of Pepperdine (883, +19) and eight strokes in front of Oklahoma (888, +24). Baylor (889, +25) and Texas (890, +26) rounded out the top five on the team leaderboard.
On Tuesday, the Chants were led by
Zack Taylor and his team low-round 73, +1. The redshirt senior totaled two birdies and 14 pars over the final round. Combined with his first two rounds of 81 and 76, the Pennsylvania native finished in a tie for 40th overall at 230, +14.
Sophomore
Seth Taylor finished the three-round event in 52nd overall with rounds of 75, 78, and 81 for a 54-hole score of 234, +18.
Juniors
Tyler Gray (82-75-82) and
Connor Newton (83-80-77) finished with 54-hole tournament scores of 239, +23, and 240, +24, respectively. Gray ended the three-day tournament in a tie for 60th overall, while Newton placed in a tie at 65th overall.
Sophomore
Gavin Noble rounded out the Chants' lineup this week with rounds of 83, 77, and 81 for his 54-hole score of 241, +25, which placed him in 68th overall.
