Three Chants Named to the 2020-21 Academic First Team

CONWAY – Three members of the Coastal Carolina men's soccer team have been named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District Team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday afternoon.

The Chanticleers representatives on the District 4 first team, which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and South Carolina, were senior Nicholas Itopoulos, junior Marcelo Lage, and sophomore Kasper Skraep.

All three are first-time honorees. Those named to the all-district teams must have a 3.30 cumulative GPA, be a starter or important reserve, and must have played in 75 percent of the games.

These three join a long list of Chanticleers who have received the honor as 11 former Chants have been named to the all-district teams in the past. The latest was Tyrone Mondi in 2019.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team is selected by CoSIDA and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their performances both on the field and in the classroom.
