Chants looking to build on solid fall performances
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's golf team heads to Johnson City, Tenn., for the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate hosted by East Tennessee State University on Oct. 8-10.
The Buccaneers will welcome 14 schools to the Blackthorn Country Club for the three-day tournament, including Augusta, CCU, College of Charleston, Charlotte, Florida Gulf Coast, Furman, Georgia Southern, Louisiana Tech, Liberty, Loyola Marymount, Penn State, Rutgers, Toledo, and Virginia Tech. Tennessee and Wake Forest will also feature individual participants.
In the Chants previous outings this fall, CCU has picked up top-10 finishes at the Island Resort Intercollegiate (8th), Golfweek Challenge (6th), and the Rod Myers Invitational (10th).
The Coastal lineup this week features Seth Taylor once again in the No. 1 spot, followed by Jack Lee, Garrett Cooper, Ludvig Eriksson, Owen Kim, and Connor Bennink.
Taylor capped off his week in Durham with a +1, 217 scorecard, which was good for a tie for 14th on the final leaderboard. Taylor also led the Chants with nine birdies during the three-round tournament.
"We are excited to get back to competition in Johnson City, Tennessee, for the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate," head coach Jacob Wilner said prior to this week's tournament. "We are traveling with six players who are ready to wear some teal and post some red numbers."
First round play from Johnson City begins Sunday at 8:30 a.m. ET, with Coastal scheduled to tee off at 9:20 a.m. ET.
