Chants Return to Spartanburg for NCAA Southeast Regionals

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's and women's cross country teams are set for the start of regional postseason play as they travel to Spartanburg, S.C. for the NCAA Southeast Regionals on Nov. 10, hosted by USC Upstate at the Milliken Research Center.
The Chants began postseason play on Oct. 28 at the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Foley, Ala.
On the overall leaderboard, the women's team finished fourth in the 5k event with an average time of 18:14 and the men took eighth in the 8k event with an average time of 27:46.
Senior Molly Jones secured her fourth top-place finish of the season in route to claiming her second consecutive Sun Belt Conference Title.
Juniors Ellie Wolski and Amilia Wise-Sweat finished third and 14th, respectively, as Wolski claimed her fourth top-three finish of the season.
Jones, Wolski and Wise-Sweat will all represent CCU at this weekend's regional meet, along with freshman Megan Dolan who finished 43rd in the 5k at the Sun Belt Championship.
On the men's side, junior Trey Kraimer landed his season-best placement at the Conference Championships, finishing 25th with a 26:49 average time. Senior transfer Nehemiah Cionelo finished two spots behind in 27th with a 27:01 time.
This week's lineup consists of Cionelo, juniors Kraimer, Julian John, Ethan Blackwelder and Jack Benoit, and freshmen Adam Groves and Sterling Sellier.
The NCAA Southeast Regionals will start tomorrow with the women's 6k at 11 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 10k at 12 p.m. ET.
