Cross Country Travels to North Carolina for Adidas XC Challenge

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's and women's cross country teams are set for their second meet of the 2023 fall season on Friday, Sept. 15, at the Adidas XC Challenge in Cary, N.C.
The Chants are coming off a dominant performance at the Buccaneer Open just two weeks ago, where the women's team took home first and the men finished second behind host Charleston Southern.
Senior Molly Jones and redshirt junior Ellie Wolski claimed the top two spots in the women's 4k event with times of 15:00.3 and 15:26.1, respectively.
On the men's side, freshman Adam Groves began his CCU career with a 10th place finish in the men's 6k event with a time of 19:12.8.
The last time the Chants competed in Cary, N.C., was back in 2005 at the Great American Cross Country Festival, where the men's team finished fourth with 153 total points.
The men's and women's teams will feature a full roster heading into this weekend's competition.
Both teams will look to continue their fast start to the season and bring home another top place finish, with their home competition, the Chanticleer Challenge, looming on deck.
The meet will start with the men's 6k event at 5:15 p.m. ET, followed by the women's 5k event at 5:55 p.m. ET.
