Seth Taylor shoots a 69 on the final day of action

DURHAM, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's golf team shot a nine-over 297 in Monday's final round of the Rod Myers Invitational at the Duke University Golf Club to finish 10th overall, with a three-round score of 35-over 899 (304-298-297).

Seth Taylor picked up another top-20 finish with his one-over 217 (72-76-69) to finished tied for 14th. In Monday's final round, Taylor had five birdies and 12 pars. The only blip on his scorecard was a six on the par-four fifth hole. He finished the event with a team-best nine birdies over the three rounds.

Garrett Cooper shot a nine-over 225 (76-74-75) to finish tied for 42nd, while Jack Lee was only two shots back at 11-over 227 (77-74-76) to finish tied for 47th.

Trace McDonald finished tied for 58th after carding a 14-over 230 (79-74-77) and Ludvig Eriksson finished tied for 67th with a 21-over 237 (80-79-78).

Scoring was down on the final day of competition as evidenced by 33rd-ranked Duke's one-under 287 being one of three sub-par rounds. The Blue Devils won their own event with an eight-under 856 (278-291-287) with 34th-ranked Louisville finishing second with a three-under 861 (293-278-290).

North Carolina State finished third with a four-over 868 (289-289-290) with UNCW finishing fourth with a seven-over 871 (292-282-297). UNCG (296-291-286) and Charlotte (295-285-293) finished tied for fifth with a nine-over 873.

Princeton finished seventh (+12, 876) and Penn State (+13, 877) was one shot back in eighth, while Virginia Tech finished ninth in front of the Chants with a 29-over 893 (298-291-304). Following CCU's 10th place finish was Loyola (Md.) (+36, 900) and East Carolina (+37, 901) to round out the final scoring.

The Chants will take a week off before getting back in action at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in Johnson City, Tenn., at the Blackthorn Club at the Ridges.
