CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 shutout loss to No. 18 Kentucky on Sunday evening at the CCU Soccer Complex.

• With the loss, the Chants fall to 1-5-0 overall and 0-2-0 in Sun Belt play.
• Coastal nearly struck first in the 11th minute when Loed Klaasen dribbled past several Wildcat defenders, but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Sebastian Conlon to keep the score level at 0-0.
• The Chants continued to apply pressure when Angel Lopez rattled the woodwork in the 13th minute.
• Kentucky broke through in the 30th minute when Agustin Lopez converted a penalty kick to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
• Lopez doubled the advantage just two minutes later, finding the back of the net off assists from Josh Gordon and Max Miller.
• At halftime, Kentucky held a 7-5 edge in shots, while Coastal led 2-1 in corner kicks.
• The score remained 2-0 through the final 45 minutes, with the Wildcats outshooting Coastal 10-7 by the full-time whistle.

The Chanticleers will hit the road to take on Old Dominion on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. ET.
