
2026 Men’s Soccer Season Preview

CONWAY, S.C. — The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team opens the 2026 season Aug. 20, traveling to Raleigh, N.C., to take on No. 2 NC State at 7:30 p.m.
- The Chanticleers will look to improve upon their 3-9-2 overall record and 2-6-1 mark in Sun Belt Conference play from the 2025 season.
- Coastal was picked to finish ninth in the Sun Belt Conference preseason coaches' poll with 25 points.
- The Chants finished eighth in the Sun Belt standings last season.
- Coastal recorded two shutouts during the 2025 campaign.
- The 2026 schedule features 16 regular-season matches, including eight contests at home at the CCU Soccer Complex.
- The Chanticleers will look to build on a pair of exhibition victories over Wake Forest and Catawba, along with a draw against USC Upstate.
- Coastal returns five players from the 2025 roster and welcomes 20 newcomers to the 2026 squad.
- The 2026 roster features seven freshmen, seven sophomores, eight juniors, and three seniors.
- The 25-player roster features student-athletes representing seven countries: Argentina (1), England (2), Ghana (1), Iceland (1), Ireland (1), Spain (3), and the United States (16).
- The 16 U.S. players represent 13 different states: Colorado (1), Connecticut (1), Georgia (2), Illinois (1), Iowa (1), Kentucky (2), Maryland (1), Massachusetts (1), Nevada (1), New Jersey (1), New York (1), South Carolina (2), and Texas (1).
- Coastal enters the 2026 season under the direction of Adam Perron, who was named the fifth head coach in program history.
- The 2026 campaign marks Perron's first season as a collegiate head coach after spending the previous six seasons as an associate head coach at the University of Virginia from 2020-25.
- Prior to joining Virginia, Perron served as a coach at James Madison University, Southern New Hampshire University, Ohio State University, and Seacoast United Academy and the Phantoms of the Premier Development League.
- Perron has brought in a new coaching staff that includes assistant coaches Nick Melville, Will Lukowski, and Chay Strine.
- Melville joins the Coastal coaching staff after previously working at James Madison University.
- Lukowski joins the Chants after coaching at Colorado Mesa, Wofford, South Carolina, Missouri State, and the University of the Cumberlands.
- Strine joins the staff after graduating from James Madison, where he was a four-year starter.
