CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Boone, N.C. to compete in the Covered Bridge Open hosted by Sun Belt foe Appalachian State on Friday, Sept. 3. The meet will take place at the Don Kennedy Trails at State Farm for a 5:45 p.m. ET start time.
The Chants will have five student-athletes on the women's side compete in freshmen Meagan Moreno, Amilia Wise-Sweat, Ashley Dalleske, Mia Sheldon, and Jessica Martin, who will all make their CCU debuts, and joined by last year's top Chanticleer finishers in the SBC Championships in returners Ashley Rulison and Molly Jones.
Rulison competed in three meets last season for Coastal, where she was the top Chanticleer finisher in all three events. She posted a season-best third-place finish in the Chanticleer Challenge before ending the season with a season-best time of 18:55.6 in the 5k at the Sun Belt Cross Country Championships. Jones competed just once last year, placing 33rd with a time of 19:05.8 in the Sun Belt Championships.
