CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina volleyball team remains on the road as the Chanticleers will travel to Charlottesville, Va., for the Cavalier Classic on Sept. 6 – 7. The Chanticleers will face Hofstra (9/6) and Virginia (9/6 and 9/7). CCU's contest versus the host Cavaliers will be available for viewing on the ACC Network Extra.

ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA
The Chanticleers opened the season dropping the first three matches of the season at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Coastal was voted to finish second in the East Division in the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Poll and saw
Jalyn Stout selected as the Sun Belt Offensive Preseason Player of the Year. The Chants trail the overall series with Hofstra 1-0 and have a 2-1 record against the Virginia Cavaliers.
CCU is led by Stout, who has 34 kills, 36 assists, and 29 digs, nearly average a triple-double.
Agata Lesiak,
Emily Fowler,
Lauren Malone, and
Dilara Unal aided in the offensive attack with 16, 16, 15, and 12 kills, respectively.
Cagla Bengi leads the team with 39 assists.
Defensively, Unal leads the team with six blocks with Lesiak having stopped five kills at the net.
Sydney Lewis's 36 digs have helped put the offensive back in attack mode.
ABOUT HOFSTRA
The Pride enter the weekend with a 2-1 record, having picked up wins over Wake Forest and Navy before dropping their final match against West Virginia at the Wake Forest Invitational opening weekend. Hofstra earned a pair of preseason honors from the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) as Beatriz Alves was named to the Preseason All-CAA Volleyball Team and Chiara Cucco garnered a spot on the honorable mention team.
Izadora Stedile leads the attack with 30 kills while Clara Bal (24) and Emily Nunes (20) have over 20 kills each. Alvez leads the team with 102 assists while Constanza Perez Sain's 10 service aces are tops on the team.
Cucco has 54 digs to get the attack started while Iyanna Garvin (14) and Nunes (10) have stopped double-digit kill attempts.
ABOUT VIRGINIA
The University of Virginia (UVA) sits at 3-0, having swept all three opponents at ODU's Quest for the Crown, knocking off Marist, William & Mary, and Old Dominion. The Cavaliers return five seniors from last season's team and welcome seven newcomers.
Elayna Duprey (36) and Abby Tadder (26) have tallied over 25 kills with Zoey Dood, Becca Wight, and Brooklyn Borum adding 16, 16, and 15 kills, respectively. Dood and Ashley Le are Virginia's top assist leaders with 43 and 42, respectively, and Milan Gomillion has added 16 helpers.
Tadder (12) and Kate Dean (10) have stopped double-digit kill attempts with Gomillion leading the team with 41 digs.
