Cross Country Opens Season Friday at CSU Buccaneer Invitational

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's and women's cross country teams begin the 2024 fall schedule on Friday, Aug. 30, at the CSU Buccaneer Invitational in Charleston, S.C.
The Chanticleers opened last season in Charleston, where the women's team finished first and the men's team finished second.

The women's roster features newcomers Jenna Lang, Sadie Morris, Amanda Probst, Bethany Simpson, Kendall Toth, and Ella Wilson joining returners Megan Dolan, Olivia Goeser, Taylor Houston, Mary Kathryn Huddleston, Molly Jones, Addison Laughlin, Erin McQuitty, Katelyn Porter, Tiarra Smith, and Amilia Wise-Sweat.Â
Jones is the two-time defending Sun Belt Cross Country Women's Runner of the Year and SBC individual champion, finishing first in four of Coastal's six meets last fall.Â
The men's team will feature a returning corp of Ethan Blackwelder, Jackson Brungart, Nehemiah Cionelo, Sean Clegg, Tomas Duncan, Adam Groves, Julian John, Trey Kraimer, Garrett Ricardo, and Sterling Sellier, along with newcomer Dylan Payer.

Cionelo and Kraimer highlight Coastal's returners, as the duo combined to finish first in all six of Coastal's meets in 2023.Â

The women's 5k event will start at 9 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 6k event at 9:45 a.m. ET.
